The “Citizen Service Act” was signed into law in October 2009. This law requires townships to compile and maintain a directory of all local authorities, boards, and commissions. As part of this law for each board or commission the township is required to list the number of positions, the current members along with their terms of office, the number of vacancies, the frequency of meetings and the appointing authority. Any person interested in serving on a municipal authority, board or commission should file the one-page ‘Citizen Leadership Form’ with Cindy Philips in Town Hall.
